The word "Irhema", in truth, came from the first two characters of my first, middle, and last names. No resemblance to anyone or anything else, real or otherwise, was intended.

This site deliberately uses minimal design, for a reason. That reason is to direct the viewer to look at the photographs, not the design elements. The dark grey background makes the photos appear more luminescent and stand out from the background. A lighter background would draw the eye toward itself, while a black background tends to provide too much contrast. The grey is strong, but subtle.
