In the center of the garden was a patio, constructed of oblong pink granite and
black basalt blocks, edged with irregular pinkish stones. Due to lack of materials,
it was not possible to make a perfectly-shaped patio, and the bare earth left
exposed was not attractive. Thus, the plants listed above were set into the gaps
between the oblong and edging stones. Sedums and creeping thymes work really well
placed among stone, whether as in a patio like this one, or along footpaths.
