Howard County Hadassah is a chapter of our parent organization, Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc.

Hadassah is the largest women's and largest membership organization in the United States, with members in thirty-four countries around the world. Hadassah initiates and supports a number of health care, education, youth, humanitarian, and land development projects in Israel, such as:

In the United States, Hadassah advocates for support of issues of concern to the organization at both the national and state levels, sponsoring Days on the Hill, where Hadassah advocates visit their representatives in the U.S. Congress, and Dates with the State, where Hadassah advocates visit their representatives in their states.

Hadassah also provides programming at the local and regional level for health awareness, Jewish education, and leadership development. Typical programs include:

Hadassah is non-denominational, and welcomes Jewish women of all backgrounds.

Hadassah is also divided into Regions and Cooperatives, and the Howard County Chapter belongs to the Northern Seaboard Region and the SUN Cooperative.
